Asbestos Sampling & Asbestos Surveys
It is a requirement of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 that persons in charge of buildings (with the exception of domestic properties unless they are being refurbished etc) must manage any asbestos present within their premises. The first step of asbestos management is to identify any asbestos present. This is usually done by undertaking an asbestos management survey, or a more intrusive pre-demolition survey if the premises are being refurbished / demolished (previously Type 2 Asbestos and Type 3 Asbestos Survey).

Sometimes only a one-off sample may be required typically when a survey has already been carried out and a further suspect material is discovered during works, or if the prospective buyer of a house suspects that ceilings covered with Artex may contain asbestos for example.
SES’ surveyors are trained to the BOHS P402 standard and have years of experience carrying out asbestos surveys whether they be management or pre-refurbishment / demolition. From a one-off sample to a full site pre-demolition survey, SES can undertake it. A site-specific report will be generated for every survey which will include details and photos of all areas inspected, samples taken and site plans showing sample locations etc in in accordance with HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide.
Asbestos Re-Inspection & Management
Whilst it always been necessary to maintain asbestos in a good condition, the introduction of The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 placed a duty on all persons in charge of non-domestic buildings to manage any asbestos in their buildings by 2004. This prompted a surge of asbestos surveys to be undertaken across the country which is the most common way to initially identify any asbestos materials present. However, what most fail to realise is that the survey is only the first part of the asbestos management process and companies / institutions have been prosecuted by HSE on this basis.
SES are able to undertake re-inspections / surveys to ensure that any asbestos materials previously identified are in a safe and manageable state. Further to this we can work with you to provide an asbestos management plan to ensure compliance with CAR2012.
Asbestos Watching Brief
Has the potential for asbestos presence been identified in your soils, or within a building that is too dangerous to survey? If the answer is yes, then we can provide a watching brief service during the works where we will be in attendance throughout whilst continually looking for the presence of any suspect to materials. This will ensure that any suspect asbestos containing materials are found at the earliest opportunity to prevent unnecessary exposure and to minimise the amount of asbestos waste generated for disposal.
Asbestos Removal Audits
Are you having asbestos removal undertaken on your project? If so, then you still have an obligation to ensure the safety of your employees and the general public. SES can undertake an audit of all types of asbestos removal from an initial review of RAMS to a full site audit to ensure the works are being undertaken to the required standards.

Are you an asbestos removal contractor? To help ensure you comply with the requirements of monitoring and review etc, SES are able to undertake site audits of your projects on a nationwide basis.
Asbestos Removal & Disposal
SES have over 25 years’ experience in the removal and management of all types of asbestos containing materials from domestic, commercial, education and public buildings.

We can undertake / arrange the removal or encapsulation of most types of all types of asbestos containing materials. SES hold an upper tier Environment Agency Waste Carriers License to transport asbestos containing materials. Asbestos removal will be undertaken strictly in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and all waste will be transferred and disposed of in accordance with current Hazardous Waste Regulations.
No matter the size of the project, we’re here to make it happen.
